Self Portraits

Hey bloggers,
This term, Te Waka Ako have been doing our self portraits. First, we sketched our face, then painted, then dyed, then coloured it and glued the other side of our face on it. Here is a photo of mine:

Thanks for reading my blog post. If you have any free time, please leave a comment. Have your school done any self portraits before?
Blog you later!!!

  1. Hi Jaimie, it's great to see that you are keeping up your blogging. I can guess that your other decade that you chose was the Victorian era. You have done a great job at keeping the composition of your face the same side which aligns with our Inquiry theme of 'Reflections'. I wonder if you could have added more detail on why we chose this kind of portrait and what the success criteria was for each part? What was your favourite part of the process? Keep up your blogging and commenting! Miss D

  2. What an interesting self-portrait Jaimie, I love the vibrancy of the background to your photographic side! Could you please explain why your reflection is wearing different clothing, and include why you chose this particular style? It's great to see that you are continuing to blog during our time away from school - I shall look forward to reading your future posts!

  3. Talofa Jaimie! I think these have been my favourite self-portraits yet. Te Waka Ako selected a wide range of different decades and worked really creatively. I loved the bright colours you chose to use and your decade drawing included significant details from this era. Is there anything you would do differently next time?
    Keep posting and commenting!

  4. Hi Jaimie as you know me I'm Aamena! Great Portrait! Which Decade did you do? Mostly I like the dying you did because it actually matches with the picture. Keep up the great work! If you want to go to my blog go to wpsaamenas.blogpost.com
