Cybersmart

Hi Bloggers! I am back!
Today and last week, in Cybersmart, Te Waka Ako have been doing a comic strip about what we would do if someone sent us a nasty message.
I really enjoyed making the structure of my story. What challenged me was actually organizing the photos. I think next time, I should make longer comic and a bigger problem.
We had to create a DLO (Digital Learning Object).
Click on the title to view my work in Google Drawings. Here it is:

I hope you enjoyed my blog post and my DLO. If you have any free-time, please leave a comment.

Te Waka Ako Supermarket Trip 2019

Hi everyone, I am back!
On Wednesday, in separate classrooms, Te Waka Ako went to New World to look at healthy and non-healthy foods.
Over the past week, we had been doing Food For Thought lessons. Food For Thought lessons are where we get taught how to tell whether something is healthy or non-healthy. We learned to identify the different food groups, too. A lady named Isabelle taught us all this. Isabelle works for the Food For Thought company.

On Wednesday, my class, Manukau was first to go to New World, Mt Roskill. We got put into groups and we had to go around the supermarket looking for a healthy and non-healthy food groups. When we were finished, we had to put fruit & vegetables into the column with the right color that the fruit/vege is. All of this was on a sheet that Isabelle gave us. My group was:
Mahan
Tyson
Zoe
Cassie
And Me

My mum transported us to and from New World. These are the categories that our group did: (In order)
1. Breakfast Cereals
2. Bread
3. Dairy & Milk Products
4. Muesli Bars
5. Snack Foods
Once we were finished, everyone went to the fruit & veges to write them down.
At the end, our teacher got a $60 New World Voucher to buy a healthy lunch for our class. And then, we all lined up to get a free Food For Thought lunch box. On the inside of the lid, it had the different food groups that we looked at.

I had such a fun day. My favourite thing was looking at the fruit and vege because I got a lot of them. I got all of them!

Futsal

Hi everyone. I am back!
Lately, Waikowhai Primary School (W.P.S.) have been doing Futsal for our sport activity this term. Futsal is like football but inside. In futsal, we have been doing football skills, as well. In the first week, we went outside and did juggling and then came back inside and did dribbling.
Then, we played a game where if the coach called 'Freeze', we had to freeze as fast as we could. The last person to stop had to do 5 star jumps. Then we played a game. The coach gave us a number each, then when he called two numbers, those people had to have a
2 v 2 match against each other. I was number 10. The first time, he called 10 and 9 and I went with Leanah. I kicked the ball straight into the goal but the other team weren't ready and didn't know their number. So, when they remembered, we replayed the game. I went on and scored a goal straight away again.
The next time the coach called my number, I went on got the ball and, straight away kicked it through Rio's legs and into the goal. That was the end of the session.

This week, I scored 2 goals and I think I did really well.

I can't wait for next week.

I hope you enjoyed this post. If you have any free time, please leave a comment.

APPA Choir Rehearsal #4 - A's and B's Together for the First Time

Hi everyone! I am back!
Yesterday, the APPA Choirs came together with the B sides and the A sides for the first time! The songs sounded AMAZING!!!
The songs sounded amazing because either the As and Bs each get a different tune or we get a different line. So, whenever the As and Bs sung together, we made an incredible noise!

Our school was hosting the rehearsal, this time, so Miss McGrath, our amazing choir teacher, borrowed Waikowhai Intermediate's school hall. Waikowhai had to set up the chairs for the choirs.
In my opinion, I think that I did really well in the rehearsal.
I think that the As and Bs did quite well with Les Miserable and Rockin' Robin. I think in What About Us?, we needed to work on not sounding like a rattlesnake and pronouncing the Ss really strongly. Mr Lambert fixed that, though, by turning all of the S sounds to Z sounds. I think us as a choir need to work on memorizing the words for Eye of The Tiger.
These were the songs we sang:

Les Miserable Medley
Rockin' Robin
Phantom
Choo Choo Ch Boogie
A Te Tarakihi
Ke Manuia Te Aho
In Winter
The Moon
I'll Be There For You
Eye of The Tiger
What About Us?

I can't wait for the concert on the 26th of November! I hope you enjoyed my blog post. If you have any free time, please leave a comment.
