APPA Concert

Kia ora, bloggers!
I am back! On Tuesday 26th November night, the APPA school choirs performed at the town hall for real!
All of the conductors were there; Mr Lambert, Miss McGrath & Mrs Mountcastle. All the choir trainers came to watch too. Some teachers from the school came to support us. Ms Sands and Julie came from our school. It was awesome! Hot, too. The town hall has so many seats. On the day of the dress rehearsal, all you could see was mostly empty seats and them on the night there was absolutely no seats empty at all. My mum, dad and little sister, Paige went to come and support me and our school choir. I think we did amazing!

EPro8 Semi Finals

Hi everyone; I am back!
I told you about the Vector EPro8 challenge in one of my last blog posts. If you haven't read it, then check it out. I mentioned that our team (Noah, Toby, Angelina and me) got into the semi finals. The semi-finals were yesterday. This time, there was only fruit and vegetable challenges. When the clock started, we wanted to do the challenge 'Juice: Shake and Serve'. We started making it but we decided that it was too hard, so we changed to the sorting machine. We made a conveyor belt that carried a banana and dropped it into a fruit box. It worked. We hit our buzzer and the song that we picked (Pink Fluffy Unicorns) came on. The judge came over and saw that our motor wasn't attached so he smacked it off and it broke. Luckily, we had another. The judge also told us we had to tighten our conveyor belt. We used the new motor and attached it. Then, we tightened the conveyor belt with a pole. It was shredding against the pole. It was breaking. Luckily, it lasted the whole competition. The conveyor belt was fabric. We hit our buzzer again. He gave us the points. We were in 1st place! We continued to complete the challenges. However, people caught up with the placings because of the points awarded. At the end, the judge presented the winners that would go to the grand final. We were 6th. The three teams that got into the finals were Gladstone Gearheads, Steaming Wires and The Dream Team. I had so much fun! My favourite part was seeing the conveyor belt shred on the pole. Did I mention that the judge broke our gearbox too?

Miss Daly thought we did really well so we stopped at the dairy to buy ice-blocks and ice-creams.

MY TIME Mindfulness and Yoga

Kia ora, everyone. I am back!
A few weeks ago, some children from Te Waka Ako got picked to do a Mindfulness and Yoga programme. I was one of those people who got picked, along with Mosese, Chimay, Jia, Abigail, Aniya, Alan, JD, Zion and Aidan. Our teachers were Sarah Eaton and Stephanie Ikinofo. For Yoga, we learnt 'Sun Salutations'. It is made up of different Yoga poses. We also did some mindfulness. We did a body scan and made a mindfulness jar each. I had so much fun! Also, it was for the whole day so we missed class. Yay!
But we missed Futsal. 😢
