Ferns

Hi everyone!
Today, for Week 1 Day 2 Activity 2 in the Summer Learning Journey, I had to think of 3 NZ Teams that have the word fern in the name and put a picture of their uniform. Then, I have to say which team is our favourite.

Tall Ferns

Black Ferns

Silver Ferns

My favourite team is the Silver Ferns.
I hope you enjoyed my blog post. Blog you later!

  4. Hi Jaimie,

It's Leslie here, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team, reading your blog from my home in Canada. I'm so glad that you've chosen to participate in this program this summer. Good for you!

I hope you've enjoyed the activities so far! You've done a good job of posting photos of 3 teams that have the term 'Fern' in their names. I hadn't realized that the basketball teams are called "The Tall Ferns". That's so so appropriate!!

All of the members of my family used to play basketball when we were in elementary and high school. It is one of our favourite games. And my grandson, Aronui, who lives in Auckland just loves shooting hoops and playing around on the basketball court. Whenever I visit from Canada, we spend as much time as possible playing with a basketball.

You say that the Silver Ferns is your favourite team. What is it about them that you most like? Is netball your favourite sport, perhaps?

I love that you've posted photos of 3 women's teams. That's very cool!! Both my daughters and I studied physcial education at university so we're very keen on women's sport, just like you!

I'm enjoying reading your blog. I hope you'll continue to complete more of the activities in the Summer Learning Journey program.

    Cheers,

    Leslie
