Nga Mihi o tau hou (Happy New Year)

Hey bloggers,

I am back! Today, I did a Summer Learning Journey activity.

We had to create a poster of Happy New Year in different languages. We also had to do a screen castify of us saying Happy New Year in different languages.

Here's my DLOs

  1. Kia Ora Jaimie,
I just wanted to say that your screencastify won't work and I can't watch it.
Your post is really cool! Maybe you could embed your google drawing so if the link won't work they can still see the drawing.
Hope you have an awesome day!

    1. Hi Maddison,
Thanks for the feedback. The reason why I didn't embed the photo is because my chrome-book won't let me download things so I couldn't embed it. Also, could you tell me how the screen-castify isn't working as I can't figure it out.

  2. Mōrena Jaimie,

It’s Charlotte here, a commenter for the Manaiakalani Summer Learning Journey. You have done some amazing work on the ‘Ngā mihi o te tau hou’ task!

I am from a country call Holland, here we say Happy New Year like ‘Gelukkig nieuwjaar’. It is actually quite hard to pronounce!

Great job attempting the Step it Up challenge, it would be awesome if you could include ‘Happy New Year’ in 5 more languages this would get you the points from the Step-it-up challenge! You can find the instructions for the step it up challenge using this link.

  3. Mōrena Jaimie,

It’s Charlotte here, a commenter for the Manaiakalani Summer Learning Journey. Ka Pai on attempting the ‘Nga Mihi o tau hou (Happy New Year)’ task!

I am so sorry about the last comment I have written on this post! I have just re-watched your screencastify and noticed that you had in fact included 10 different ways to say Happy New Year! I must’ve missed them the first time I watched your video.

I have made sure that you have received the correct amount of points for both the Kick-Start and Step-It-Up parts of this task, well done!

I look forward to seeing your future posts!
