My Emotions For Camp 2019

Kia ora everyone, I am back!
Tomorrow, the senior syndicate of Waikowhai Primary School are going on school camp. But this is no ordinary school camp. We are going skiing or snowboarding on Mt Ruapehu and going to other places like Hamilton Gardens, Otorohanga, Huka Falls and the Ed Hillary Walkway on the way to and from Mt Ruapehu!!! I am skiing!
Today, to share our emotions with everyone, we have to answer a few questions about our feelings. These are the questions and my answers.

What emotions are you feeling before you go on camp?
Before camp, I am feeling nervous, excited and curious.
What excites you, makes you feel nervous or worries you?,
Skiing excites me, makes me feel nervous and worries me. It worries me that I might not get to go down any slopes if I don't learn to ski fast. I'm very, very, very, very excited about going to Huka Falls.
What is the event or place that is going to push you to your limits?
Skiing will definitely challenge me. Another thing that will challenge me is getting all my stuff together and putting it all back in my bag when it is time to go back to school because I usually will go and play with my sister while my parents pack everything in the car.
What will you gain from going on camp?
From going on camp I will gain my confidence.
How do you think you will feel after camp?
After camp I think I will feel proud and confident. I think that I will want to go back to the mountain very soon.

Term 3 Narrative

Cinema to cinema to cinema

Bonjour everybody. I am back!
In Term 3, the senior syndicate wrote some narratives about their holidays. We had to plan our writing. First, we had to plan the setting and the character. Then we had to plan the opening, the problem and the climax. Finally, we had to plan the solution. But, we had to add a twist to our story to make it more exciting and exaggerated. We then had to plan strong vocabulary to use in our story. After that, we had to plan a hook sentence and a title and then we could start writing. Once we were finished writing our narrative, we had to do two stars and a wish with a partner. Two stars and a wish is where you get a partner and they give you feedback on your work. The two stars are what they think you did well and the wish is something they would like you to improve. Nicholas did two stars and a wish for me and I did two stars and a wish for Ayva.
The title I gave my narrative was: Cinema to cinema to cinema.

I enjoyed writing my narrative. It was really fun. I loved that we had to add a twist to the story. My favourite part from my story is when we keep interrupting the staff member. This didn't actually happen. It was part of my twist...

Film Festival

Hi everybody, I am back!
Last term, some people got to pick if they wanted to be in the Film Festival group or the technology group. I chose to be in the Film Festival. Film Festival is where you enter a competition in the Ako Hiko Schools. In a group, you have to make a movie that is 3 minutes long. Every year they have a theme that everyone's movie is about. This year our theme is 'Heroes'. But not superwoman or superman; community heroes. For example, firefighters, police officers, ambulance staff, hospital staff and people who help in the classroom can all be heroes.

My group is me, Neeve, Brittany and Chimay. Our movie is about the olympics. I fall in the race and Brittany helps me up instead of crossing the finish line. These are the names we made up for the movie and the characters.

Hockey Zones

Vegetable Smackdown

Hi everyone. I am back!
Last week, the seniors did a vegetable smack down. A smackdown is where you have to share what you have learnt in just 1 minute! We got put into pairs. My buddy was Peter. (His Blog)
Then, we had to find information about the vegetable we were given. Me and Peter were given a swede.

 
After that, we had to put all of the info that we found out onto a google drawing. Our main goal was to put on the google drawing, what the nutritional value of the vegetable is. Here is me and Peter's google drawing:
